MIKE MELCHIONE

In 1973, Mike left California to follow his guitar mentor Roy Buchanan in Washington DC. On his journey, he soaked up all the knowledge, sounds and experience that he could. His passion for guitar led him to befriend another legend, Danny Gatton, becoming one of the few guitarists to record on one of his albums. In the subsequent years, he toured with Big Al Downing and later with Buckwheat Zydeco, winning a Grammy in 2010 for his work on "Lay Your Burden Down". After his stint with CJ Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Mike retired from the road and is now loving life on the Central Coast of California.
